What happens during a PRP Microneedling treatment?
After a small blood draw, your clinician will apply a topical anesthetic to your face. Your own blood is then placed into a centrifuge where it is processed and the portion of the blood called PRP is extracted. PRP contains beneficial growth factors which are responsible for the amazing results. The PRP is then placed into a microneedling pen. These devices prick tiny holes in your skin, stimulating its natural healing processes – and creating channels for the PRP. Next, PRP will be massaged into the treated areas of the skin to ensure they penetrate deeply. Finally, your clinician will apply a balm to your face to reduce redness and irritation. The treatment usually takes less than two hours in total, and it has little to no downtime. Many patients return to work the next day.
